Fox Kids Must Be Destroyed

Words from a fan about how Fox Kids has sinned against us all.

I got up early this morning (early for me) and went out to the dome to watch the first episode of Beast Machines.

It's the first time I've actually watched Saturday morning cartoons in, oh, a very, *very* long time.

I hated it.

Not Beast Machines. I didn't like everything about the episode but it definitely has promise. I have hopes the apparent continuity errors will be taken care of.

But the whole experience... quite frankly, it was execremental. The flashing lights, the stupid commercials, the imbecilic voiceovers, the monstrously annoying logo, *everything* seemed as if it was designed to elevate everything base and depraved about the human soul.

For me, it was like trying to watch a movie in a theatre with walls painted hot pink with yellow polka dots, with Liberace in the seat on one side of you and his favourite wig on the other. And every seven minutes the lights flicker and he does a little song and dance.

That's how little I enjoyed the Fox Kids Experience.

Now, granted, I am an immensely spoiled person. I'm used to watching Beast Wars in the afternoon on syndicated television. I'm also used to driving wherever I want without worrying about traffic. So I'm certainly quite naïve about some things.

Is everyone else used to this horrible type of television? Even as a kid I despised tv like this. Like the tv station is my friend, trying to tell me what's cool and talk in my lingo. It's just too much. Calm down.

Plus, I don't like the BM logo. Looks too much like Beetleborgs or some other Fox nonsense.

I really hate the segue scenes though. I'm used to [LOGO] Beast Wars! Growl! and then a commercial. So I know when to stop the tape from recording so I can dub out the moronic commercials. The Fox Kids segues are... well, let's just say me, the creator of the seques, and an energon scalpel would have an...interesting time.

And I hate the stupid logo. I just hate Fox. Fox is Evil. I am now the enemy of Fox. (But I'll still enter their "Master the Beast" sweepstakes, cause hey, a trip to Mainframe is nothing to sneeze at.)

We will support you in your cause. Even now, our operatives are infiltrating the studios, posing as producers, friends of the affiliates, and yes, even as camera operators, paying full union dues just to maintain our cover. We will approach the creator of this graphic nonsense, and "solve" the problem. No one shall stand in our way.

The evil is everywhere. From Hasbro, to Mainframe, to Fox Kids...we must be ever vigilant of the trangressions of others, lest they sully that whis is deemed most pure to us. Our Cause is just!
