Lesser known in the series were the small pull-back vehicles that populated the Starriors world. They came in several types, and didn't always look like their comic-book incarnations. Referred to as Rammors and Trashors (Rammors being the larger vehicles, and Trashors being the smallest ones). There were units for each side of the conflict (Protectors and Destructors). In point of fact, there were several units in the line that were, to the best of our knowledge, *never* made into figures (the comic appearance of the Protector Rammor Scoot, for instance, or rather, his corpse). There is also a third catagory of vehicle, a transformer series of sorts; Starrunners and Strazors (listed below). |
There were 4 unique Rammors vehicles in the Starriors line. Referred to by name as ThinkTank and Motormouth (Protectors), and Backfire and AuntieTank (Destructors). It is interesting to note that, while these four figures all were unique molds, they all came with identically molded accessory bits (though in different colors to match the specific vehicle). You never see these bits in the comic books, or listed anywhere else, and (since each comic character used different bits out of the sets) it doesn't occur to many people to hunt down complete sets of the accessories. ;-) Like the Wastors robots, they can house a small 'man' pilot (which is often confused as the pilot for the robot on Optimus Prime). One item of note; although Motormouth the toy is brown, his comic appearance showed him as white.

Strazors and StarRunners
In point of fact, only one of each of these were made. For the Protector side, RunAbout the Strazor, a unit that went from dinosaur to motorcycle; and for the Destructor side, Speedtrap the StarRunner, that went from ostrich to stealth jet and back. These units came equipped with a pull-cord that you inserted and ripped out, giving these wheeled tdbits some speedy mobility.
One interesting anomoly; I found this odd-looking fellow in a lot of Starriors, and I've been unable to identify him. He appears to be a large knockoff of Runabout. He's battery-powered, has walk/roll functions...and comes with an actual Starriors pilot. So if you have any information on this lovely piece, please let me know. ;-)

And to wrap-up the section, a picture of the Starrior who never existed, though he had a pivotal role in one of the small comics. Had the series continued, we might have seen Scoot. Here's a recreation of the scene where Slaughter Steelgrave uses a transfer ring to put Backfire's brain into Scoot's body:
