This second grey Slag is a mystery to me...it came unused along with a collection of other TFs, most of which I still have. The guy who I bought these toys off of was one of the guys who went out and bought the very 1st toys on the rack, within the 1st week of it's release. He told me that, but also, included in this collection were items like metal chested Combaticons, blue eared Cyclonus and metal chested Protectobots. Along with this Slag came a Grimlock and Snarl. Now, all three of these Dinobots are supposed to have gold chrome on them, correct? Such as Slag's gold feet, head-chrome-thingy-under-the-skull, tail...Grimlock's gold chest...Snarl's gold legs and tail and plates...wellllll...none of these do. It's not wear, as these were rarely played with, and I have all their instructions and unused parts and stickers and what not. On the silver, you can see 'traces' of gold, but nothing substancial at all. It can't be something with the sun, because all these silver parts are silver all around, even under encased parts (like the Slag head and tail). Gold parts on Dinobots generally don't get wear...the Snarl legs are blatantly pure silver. Another weird thing, is that most of this Slag matches the red/white ones. It has the 'Takara Japan' inside it's chest, and the full covers on the arms, plus small hand nubs. The only difference between this 'normal' grey Slag and the red one (besides the color of plastic) is that the dino legs have 3 pegged clear covers. I'm baffled, 1st by the differences in the 2 red Slags, then by the silver Dinobots, and now by the similarities of this silver Slag and the red Slags. I know this was long winded, hope it didn't hurt your eyes. Any input would be great! Thanks!
It is claimed by the original owner of the ones above that the silver-chrome Dinobots are real. There is another fellow claiming that silver-chrome Dinobots were released in Mexico. Here is the problem, the proverbiel fly in the Dinobot ointment: silver-chrome Dinobots that have been proven to be fake:
